Lion Tamer's Daughter

Lion Tamer's Daughter (Don't Go in the Lion's Cage)
Usually sung by Emil Bleehall (by Snoopy)

LYRICS:

[slow]
The mother when she had a lovely daughter
The mother was an actress on the stage
She traveled with a group of well trained lions
And each night she went into the lions cage

One day the daughter had a premonition (bing)
That everything that night would not go right
That day she told her mother in the kitchen, kitchen. (waffles)
Please don't go in the lions cage tonight

[upbeat]
Oh, Don't go in the cage tonight, mother darling
For the lions a ferocious and they bite (argh, argh, argh)
And when they when their angry fits, they may tear you all to bits
So don't go in the lions cage tonight (la, la, la, la)

[slow]
The mother did not heed the daughter's warning
But your turn its all poo poo
I think that I ought to know what I am doing
When I'm around the lions all are blue

That night while she was dancing in the lions cage
The lions thought that they would like to eat
And as they tore the darling mother's head off
These words came into her so curiously (ah aww, ah aww...)

[upbeat]
Don't go in the cage tonight, mother darling
For the lions a ferocious and they bite (argh, argh, argh)
And when they get their angry fits, they may tear off your ... knees
so don't go in the lions cage tonight.

ACTIONS:
Using maracas
Mother: maracas at your chest, pointing down
Daughter: maracas at your chest, pointing straight out
on the stage: a cha-cha move with right hand up and left hand under your right elbow
Lions: maracas on top of your head, pointing up, like lions ears
Cage: maracas in front of your face, pointing up, to indicate cage bars
Premonition: right hand on top of head, indicating a light bulb
Kitchen: put both out in front and lift the top one like you’re opening a waffle iron
Poo Poo: drop the maracas from behind your back
Blue: point the lion ears forward in a sad, droopy manner
Knees: move the maracas from your chest to you knees

In 2008, Emil invited a friend on stage, a young boy named Christian. He performed all the actions with the maracas. A very funny and cute video of it can be found here:
